APW - Elgin, B.W. Raymond, low serial #649, 15J, 18S, 18K gold original HC marked for retailer W.W. Cassidy of 12 S. 2nd St., Philadelphia, pumpkin style pendant, gold cuvette with engraved name, "National Watch Co." marked white enamel SS dial, KWKS (a key is included as pictured), gilt mvt, s#649. Gross weight of assembled watch 85.9 dwt (133.6 g). A notably early example, Elgin's serial number sequence began at #101 making the present watch their 549th made by serial number.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates have been re-gilt with superb execution quality to this work though with some subtle telltale signs evident, some light haze to portions of barrel bridge, some scattered mild fine to micro-fine scratches, regulator with some fine scratch striations to its attachment loop; dial with scattered light hls, mild light rust colored discoloration to portion of seconds-register, few tiny edge nicks under bezel; excellent hands; case shows ample wear, scattered dings to front, few mild dings to rear, engine turning detail is largely lost with portions that remain being faint; tight bow, push shows medium wear; good glass crystal.
